The conference was held as part of the research project TELI – Technology, labour, inequality of the Scuola Normale Superiore and the ISTAT research project Quality of employment and wage inequality: the role of technological change and enterprise characteristics. Structural aspects and consequences of the pandemic.
A rich programme in which the topics of inequalities as a global macroeconomic phenomenon (James Galbraith), the salaries and bonuses of super managers (Maurizio Franzini), the need to rethink a traditional classification (capital/labour) when talking about income distribution because of the new actor who is a wage earner/manager (Luca Giangregorio, Davide Villani). In the afternoon, inequalities in Europe and Italy and the effects of inflation on inequalities in Europe were discussed.
